Forensics Field School ANTH 384 (Summer 2025) University of Victoria

  • I learned archaeological techniques in a forensic context so I recognize I have a specific knowledge of archaeological theory. 
  • I gained skills including hazard assessment, using basic archaeological tools and equipment, setting up grids, recording measurements with a datum point, and excavating sites (such as a raccoon burial for forensic practice). 
  • I am familiar with drafting handwritten sketch maps (in multiple planes of reference), excavation plans, site reports, and maintaining site logs and personal field journals.
  • Additionally, I have some knowledge of basic archaeological theory like stratigraphic superposition, as well as site reconnaissance.

Archaeological Field School (Summer 2025 – Ongoing) Northern Arizona University
